Anglicare Australia challenged governments to address the conditions that place families under financial and housing stress, arguing that effective early intervention starts with supporting parents and families to provide loving and secure homes.
We also called for First Nations-led approaches to sit at the centre of efforts to address the unjust and disproportionate outcomes experienced by First Nations children and young people. In addition, we recommended longer-term funding contracts for community service providers. Long-term funding would enable providers to offer secure employment and invest in staff development, helping them recruit and retain skilled workers and build experienced teams that can develop strong, trusting relationships with the families they serve.
