Anglicare Australia recognises the reasons behind the Government’s decision to delay the
commencement of the new Aged Care Act, and subsequent delay to the commencement of Support at
Home. This delay was very much needed to provide aged care providers, the broader community and
the Government time to adequately prepare for such drastic reform. However, older people waiting
for in home care have borne the brunt of this decision.
