Anglicare Australia welcomes the release of the Exposure Draft Treasury Laws Amendment Bill 2026: Minimum Tax on Discretionary Trusts, and the opportunity to comment on the proposed measures. We strongly support the proposed measures. We have long advocated for increasing tax on discretionary trusts, alongside changes to the capital gains discount and negative gearing settings, as parts of a broader reform agenda to reduce economic inequality in Australia.
