Anglicare Australia welcomes the opportunity to review the Digital Protections Framework (DPF). We support the intent of the DPF to introduce safeguards around the Targeted Compliance Framework (TCF) and the automation of other Commonwealth employment services programs. However, in its current form, the DPF will not sufficiently protect people from the harms of automated decision-making (ADM). We recommend strengthening the DPF through the principles of participation, human oversight, transparency, and accountability, as detailed in Anglicare Australia’s Position Statement: Automated Decision-Making in Human Services.
