Anglicare Australia Submission to the Productivity Commission Inquiry into a National Disability Long-term Care and Support Scheme - Sept 2010

Productivity Commission Draft Report: Disability Care and Support

The Productivity Commission has released its draft report on the Disability Long Term Care and Support Scheme. [Link above] The report outlines a proposal for a National Disability Insurance Agency to oversee the implementation of, among other things, a National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The draft report makes clear that the Productivity Commission has listened to the sector. It  emphasises the central role of clients and the importance of increasing their social and economic participation. However, there are implications for services under the proposed model including major reform of the way services are delivered.

Anglicare Australia will be provide further information to - and seek feedback from  - the Anglicare network in the coming weeks, before making a response to the Productivity Commission.
